The Pacific Coast Joint Venture has been involved in conservation planning at many different geographic levels since its creation in 1991.
Planning provides partners with a biological and geographic context to:
- develop and seek funds for conservation projects
- conduct strategic planning
- gauge the regional perspective of their local conservation actions
We are currently updating PCJV conservation plans based on updated geographic focal areas with population-based habitat objectives for focal species.
- Puget Lowlands NEW! landbird plan is complete.
Previously completed plans and scheduled updates include:
- Coast Range Ecoregion - this new planning unit will be completed in late 2011. It will update plans for
Lower Columbia River,
Northern Oregon Coast,
Southern Oregon Coast, and
Coastal Northern California,
and will include the Washington Coast.
- Willamette Valley
- update scheduled for late 2011.
