Puget Lowlands Implementation Plans

Map

For more information about
conservation funding and partnerships
in the Puget Lowlands Ecoregion, contact our Washington Coordinator.

The Puget Lowlands Ecoregion includes all or parts of 14 counties in Washington, and is further subdivided into the North Puget Sound Focus Area and the South Puget Sound Focus Area.

Two plans guide bird conservation for the Puget Lowlands:

  • waterbirds and wetland habitats
  • landbirds and upland habitats

The plans were developed independently due to different types of limiting factor data and appropriate modeling processes. The modeling to establish biological objectives for waterbirds emphasizes food resources and energetics, whereas for landbirds the emphasis is on habitat relationships and density estimates.
