Data tools and resources

Ecology updates web-based coastal atlas
A new Public Beach Access feature provides detailed information on the state’s public beaches. Other updates to the atlas are coming soon.

Island County SoundIQ System launched
Presents nearshore data in "composite" maps that combine multiple data layers. The system will be showcased at the 2011 Salish Sea Ecosystem Conference.


Habitat management

Lessons Learned From the Grassland Restoration Network: 2003-2010
Lessons learned about restoration techniques across a wide range of geographic locations, soil types, and moisture conditions. Participants at GRN workshops have come from almost every grassland habitat type across North America, including the prairies of the Pacific Northwest.

Prairie Landowner Guide for Western Washington—updated version now available
Soils list and maps have been updated.

WSU Forest and Wildlife Extension
Program provides education and information about forest management to private forest landowners as well as the general public. Classes, workshops and field days, publications, videos and online resources.

WSU Extension offers Forest Stewardship Coached Planning for private landowners
A collaborative education program for Washington State family forest landowners. The program is conducted by WSU Extension in cooperation with several partners.
